Shawn came to live permanently in Mancos back in 1993, but has visited and lived on and off here since 1975. She has degrees in business and finance, and after retiring as President & CFO of a multi-million dollar manufacturing company, went back to school and earned her nursing degree.

She initially was drawn to the library as a quiet place of solitude, but soon realized that was not the Mancos Library. "Our library is so full of life! It lives and breathes and grows every day. It draws people from all walks of life for different purposes. It has been a wonderful place to work for the last 12 years."

When Shawn is not working at the library, she can be found working by her husband's side in the hay field or tending her many fruit trees (40 plus). She enjoys hunting and fishing, hiking in the mountains and chasing her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren around.
