Diane believes public libraries are treasured places of lifelong learning, intellectual freedom, and connection, where everyone is welcome. She brings more than 15 years of experience in school and public libraries, including 13 years as a school librarian in Austin, Texas, where she and her family lived for over 20 years.

Diane and her husband moved to Mancos in 2023, drawn by the community's learning, artistic, and outdoor opportunities. After two years at the Cortez Public Library, she joined the Mancos Public Library. She loves the diversity of people who live, work, and play here.

Diane holds a Master of Science in Library Science, a Master's in Environmental Engineering, and a BS in Biological Sciences, along with a teaching credential and a Texas school librarian credential.

Outside the library, Diane is happiest in nature, whether hiking, kayaking, or stargazing. She also enjoys music, arts and crafts, cooking, reading, and travel, especially trips to visit her daughters in New York. She is always eager to learn something new.
